Kangana Out Of Suspect X?
The actress cannot allot dates in December when the film is scheduled to go on floors
Buzz is, Kangana Ranaut is planning to back out of Sujoy Ghosh’s screen adaptation of the Japanese novel, The Devotion Of Suspect X, opposite Saif Ali Khan.
The actress has many films on her plate including one each with Vishal Bhardwaj, Hansal Mehta and Anurag Basu, apart from a couple of other offers. “Kangana is in two minds whether to act in the film or not. Sujoy is demanding a chunk of her dates in December, which is difficult for Kangana to comply. Her date diary is full,” says a source close to the project.
Originally, Suspect X was to start in February this year. The film was first pushed to April because the director needed two more months for preparation, followed by yet another delay because Sujoy and producer Ekta Kapoor had creative differences.
If Kangana fails to be a part of the final cast, this will not be the first time that her pairing with Saif will fall through. Previously, Mr Chaalu, directed by Reema Kagti, was offered to the two actors but both walked out of the film.
When contacted, Sujoy said, You would need to ask Balaji. They are the producers.
Ekta remained unavailable for comment.
